Melbourne tram route 8
Melbourne tram route 8 is operated by Yarra Trams on the Melbourne tram network. It operates from Moreland to Toorak.
Like most Melbourne tram routes, route 8 operates entirely in Myki Zone 1. The 15.7 kilometre route is operated by Z, B and D1 class trams from Brunswick and Malvern depots.〔(Facts & figures ) Yarra Trams〕〔(Route 8 ) Yarra Trams〕

The current route 8 commenced operating on 17 October 2004, when route 8 Melbourne University to Toorak was combined with route 22 Moreland to Arts Precinct.〔(New improved routes for Melbourne's tram network ) Yarra Trams October 2004〕
In February 2015, Yarra Trams released plans to build a centre platform at Toorak, 100 metres west of the present terminus.〔(Councillors slam proposal for new Toorak Rd terminus ) ''Herald Sun'' 19 February 2015〕
